In a rally held in Chakla, West Bengal, CM Mamata Banerjee declared that the INDIA alliance, led by TMC, is gearing up to contest in every constituency during the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a large gathering, she criticized the BJP, highlighting the fact that her government has been consistently providing five kilograms of rice to the poor, a promise made by the BJP during election campaigns.
She went on to shed light on her government's welfare initiatives since assuming power in 2021. She underlined the commitment to public welfare by pointing out the continuance of the MGNREGA scheme for 45 days despite the central government's cessation of funds to West Bengal. The CM outlined various schemes, including free ration distribution, the Swastha Sathi card, the Laxmir Bhandar, and educational benefits like Sabuj Sathi cycles and smartphones for students.
During her address, she emphasized the empowerment of women through schemes like Kanyashree, providing financial assistance to unmarried women, and scholarships for female students. The CM urged TMC workers to actively engage with the public, reinforcing that the party's purpose is to serve the people. As the INDIA alliance gears up for the 2024 elections, Mamata Banerjee's announcement sets the stage for an intense political battleground in the coming months.
